Montgomery, AL- Last week was a great week for Montgomery’s South side of town. On May 8th, Youth Employment Services (Y.E.S.) celebrated their Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting. Business leaders, community leaders, elected officials, and supporters gathered for the occasion.
“We are happy and thrilled to get started” said Y.E.S. Board President Roy Phifer. “This is a great thing.”
Senator David Burkette, District 26 was one of the elected officials in attendance. Burkette said he is in full support of Y.E.S. and that it is needed for our youth.
In his closing remarks, Y.E.S. Executive Director Cederick Williams expressed words of thanks. “We named this program Y.E.S. because we don’t want anyone to say “no” to our children.”
Lunch was provided by Simply Southern Restaurant.
Several organizations partner with Y.E.S. They include Easter Seal, Trenholm State Community College, Montgomery Area Food Bank, State Surplus Property, M-PACT Advertising and Design, Job Corps, Montgomery County DHR, Montgomery Career Center, Montgomery Chamber of Commerce, AIDT, Ready to Work, and Regions Bank.
