DOTHAN, Ala. – At its recent meeting, the Wiregrass Foundation Board of Directors voted unanimously to continue and strengthen their investment with Dothan City Schools (DCS). Wiregrass Foundation will cover up to $1.3 million to assist in sustaining locally funded instructional units for the 2020-21 school year.
“Many innovations were initiated in DCS over the past year. Our board believes the teachers and staff have worked hard to implement positive changes, and they are deserving of support to maintain those efforts in the upcoming school year,” stated Barbara Alford, President of Wiregrass Foundation.
With the support of Wiregrass Foundation, Dothan City Schools can continue their transformative work of the last two years ensuring DCS students have the resources and support necessary to carry on their aspirations in life.
“Dothan City Schools is very thankful and grateful for the partnership with the Wiregrass Foundation,” says Dothan City Schools Superintendent Dr. Phyllis Edwards, “the support of these committed Dothan residents, who just want to see DCS be successful in educating our young residents is paramount!”
