Montgomery, AL- Trenholm State now offers a new four-week, non-credit Class B CDL that utilizes the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) model curriculum as the foundation for training. Students will learn essential to advanced operations of vehicles like straight trucks, large passenger buses, segmented buses, box trucks, and dump trucks with small trailers. The Class B CDL is the second heaviest weight
class, with commercial motor vehicles weighing more than 26,001 pounds and trailers weighing less than 10,000 pounds. Drivers who earn this certificate can pursue a broader range of truck driving careers in areas like shipping, construction, and public transit.
Trenholm State offers small classes and individualized hands-on training using interactive classrooms, virtual simulators, and on-road driving. To enroll, students must be at least 18 years old. Classes meet four days a week- 19 hours per week over four weeks. Tuition is $1,300 and includes books.
