SOUTH HUNTSVILLE, AL – Tailwinds Development has announced a community-revitalizing development for South Huntsville. The Market at Hays Farm, located at the former Haysland Square site, is being redeveloped into a new shopping destination featuring a new 50,000 square foot grocery store. The center also boasts more than 100,000 square feet of small shops and junior anchor space available in addition to multiple outparcels to serve the needs of the Huntsville community.
Tailwinds Development has over 45 years of combined experience in commercial real estate development throughout the Southeast.
“We work to create properties that enhance their community while incorporating green planning and development,” says James Gendreau, President. “Our team has worked on many successful projects in North Alabama and looks forward to being a part of Hays Farm, a truly transformative development for South Huntsville.”
The location of The Market at Hays Farm on South Memorial Parkway and the
Weatherly/Haysland Road will be able to serve the needs of the South Huntsville community as well as 50,000+ daily commuters.
“The Market at Hays Farm will play a key role in transforming the face of the South
Parkway,” says South Huntsville Business Association Director Bekah Schmidt. “We expect The Market will foster further new development and redevelopment in our area as Huntsville continues to grow.”
Tailwinds Development will begin demolition and construction to begin in Spring of 2020 with a completion date set for Fall 2021. The Market at Hays Farm will announce the grocer tenant in late spring of this year, with additional announcements coming soon.
Hays Farm is an 850-acre master planned development just minutes from downtown and Redstone Arsenal. Nearly two-thirds will remain as protected parkland. Hays Farm will provide approximately 1100 new housing units with more than 500 single-family detached homes that will be divided into three (3) general price ranges and neighborhoods. The first 170 homesites will be available in 2020.
