SAMARITAN COUNSELING CENTER REMAINS OPEN TO CURRENT, WELL PATIENTS

Montgomery, AL – The Samaritan Counseling Center, Inc. has announced it will remain open for the time being, and will not be cancelling appointments or closing its office. However, the Center is suspending new intakes until April 1, 2020

To help maintain appropriate “social distancing” and minimize spread of the COVID-19 virus, several insurance companies are covering telephone and/or telehealth/videotherapy sessions. Current patients can find out more by calling The Center (334) 262-7787. Those patients who are ill should call the same number to cancel their in-office appointment. All late cancellation fees will be waived.

Patients should not return to therapy until they are symptom-free for 24 hours, without fever-reducing medication. If the client is a minor, this also applies to the person bringing them to therapy. If a client or anyone in their household has traveled outside the country in the last 21 days, they should cancel all appointments for the remaining days of the 14-day self-quarantine window.

For the welfare of The Center’s clients, their guests and staff, all guests of clients should refrain from entering the office, except the parent or guardian of a minor child. The Center has staggered appointment times to relieve crowding in the reception area.

“While we’re taking needed precautions,” said Cary Kuhlmann, Executive Director at the Samaritan Counseling Center, “The Center will continue to support overall emotional and physical well-being, closely monitor the Coronavirus situation, and follow the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and Alabama Department of Health guidelines.”

The Center will provide updates through its Facebook, Life@Samaritan e-newsletter, and website www.tsccenter.org.
