Montgomery Public Schools has announced the system’s Summer Feeding Program schedule. Any person 18 years old or younger may receive breakfast and lunch at no cost. The program is available Monday through Thursday, June 3 through Tuesday, July 16 (except July 4).
MPS Child Nutrition Program Director Johnna Beard says this work helps to keep children healthy while school is out.
“Many children in our community count on the free meals they get while school is in session for their primary nutrition,” said Beard. “When school is out during the summer, their health can be impacted. Providing these meals will help them stay healthy and ready for the start of the new school year.”
Breakfast will be served from 7:30 until 8:00 at all sites. Lunch will be served in elementary schools from 10:30 until 11:30 and from 11:00 until noon at middle and high school sites.
The participating schools are: Catoma Elementary, Crump Elementary, Wilson Elementary, Brewbaker Primary, Brewbaker Intermediate, Dannelly Elementary, Davis Elementary, Dozier Elementary, Dunbar-Ramer School, Pintlala Elementary, Highland Gardens Elementary, Johnson Elementary, Morningview Elementary, Nixon Elementary, Carr Middle, McKee Middle, Jefferson Davis High, and Lanier High schools.
No ID is required and the individual does not have to be a student – only 18 or younger.
