The Montgomery Police Department has made an arrest in the
homicide of 37-year-old, Summer Blackmon who died from blunt force trauma.
MPD detectives charged Derrick Wilson, 41, of Montgomery with one count of murder after he was taken into custody by MPD.
MPD and Fire Medics responded to the 600 block of Community Street at about early morning on Sunday, April 14. There, they located the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
MPD initiated a death investigation, and the circumstances initially were unknown. The investigation determined the death to be a homicide and Wilson was identified as a suspect.
