Montgomery, AL- Montgomery Mayor Steven L. Reed was presented with a resolution from the Alabama State Senate for Montgomery’s record-breaking economic development over the past 15 months.
Montgomery has been a state leader in investment and job creation with $1.7 billion and 2,000 announced jobs.
Senator Kirk Hatcher presented the resolution Mayor Reed. In the resolution, Mayor Reed was recognized for positioning the city to be a leader in technology, innovation, and commerce.
Mayor Reed shared how he has been working with the Montgomery County Commision and the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce to drive economic growth in the city.
City Council President Pro-Tem Cornelius “CC” Calhoun shared that this achievement took teamwork amongst the city, county, and chamber.
Montgomery County Chairman Doug Singleton made mention of how the county has been working with the City of Montgomery. “We are know for our relationship with the city. We are successful because of that relationship.”
Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce President Anna Buckalew said the chamber has been working with Mayor since he has been in office. “If its good for Montgomery let’s make it happen” she said in her remarks. “We are riding a wave of growth and opportunity.”
The City of Montgomery capital investments include Amazon, FedEx, and Manna Beverages & Ventures, The Inland Port Project, C Spire, and more.
