Montgomery County Receives Grant Funding for Park Improvements

MONTGOMERY, Ala.- Major enhancements are coming to Montgomery County’s Snowdoun Park and Wayne Enzor Park thanks to two recent grants.

The county will be enhancing the playground surface at Snowdoun Park thanks to a grant from the Alabama Department of Environmental Management’s Scrap Tire Fund.
This $16,605.00 grant will fund new recycled tire mulch at the Snowdoun Park playground. The new mulch will replace the current playground surface and provide a more suitable playground surface for children and families visiting the park.

Wayne Enzor Park is also set to receive a new pavilion thanks to a $17,458.00 grant from the Mid-South RC&D Council.

“Families from throughout Montgomery visit our county parks daily. These grants will help fund much-needed enhancements to Snowdoun and Wayne Enzor Parks,” said Montgomery County Commission Chairman Doug Singleton. “Thanks to the hard work of our Grants Department, Montgomery County continues to receive additional funding for new, innovative, projects throughout the county.”

The new Snowdoun Park playground surface is set to be installed in the coming months and the new Wayne Enzor Park pavilion will be completed in July.
