MONTGOMERY, AL — Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.’s Montgomery (AL) Alumnae Chapter and the Fortitude Foundation will present the 2020 Crème de la Crème with a Gospel Explosion virtually on Friday, August 21, 2020 at 7 p.m.
In an effort to keep its commitment to spotlighting the outstanding accomplishments of area youth, salute chapter members and community leaders whose work is making a positive impact in our community, and support efforts to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, this year’s event will be shown live through a special access link on the chapter’s website at www.montgomeryalumnae.org, and made accessible to the community.
“Crème de la Crème is one of our signature events. It’s a tradition for many in our community and we wanted to ensure that we maintained that important legacy,” said Montgomery Alumnae Chapter President Cassandra E. Brown. “Crème gives us an opportunity to recognize young people who are striving for excellence at an important time when our children need to be affirmed and told that who they are and what they do matters. We’ve worked hard over the past several weeks to make sure this event takes place, and we are thankful to our parents and participants, and supporters and corporate sponsors who annually invest in the lives of our youth through Crème, which supports the chapter’s scholarship and community programs.”
Crème de la Crème will feature the presentation of the Crème Pearls and Dazzling Diamonds, chapter and community service awards, and the naming of the 2020 Miss Crème de la Creme and Little Miss Crème. Plus, praise and worship by Terrell Wright and the True Divine Praise Team, and a soul-stirring performance by three-time Grammy Award-nominated gospel artist Jekalyn Carr.
