Montgomery, AL- Leadership Montgomery is pleased to announce that on July 26, 2022, the annual State of Leadership event will take place focusing on Quality of Life for Our Youth. This event will examine the intersections of quality of life facing our youth and how we, as community leaders, can effect positive change for teens and support organizations working to enrich, enliven and uplift this dynamic age group. The event will include a Keynote Speaker, Panel Discussion, and Expo. Keynote Speaker, Dr. Wendy Troop-Gordon, Auburn University, will provide information on teenage human development, the importance of peer relationships, mental health, and parental support systems. Included in this event will be a video presentation of local teenagers interviewed by WSFA News Anchor, Rosanna Smith, about how they experience quality of life. Bo Jinright will facilitate a Panel Discussion with the following local Community Leaders: Jannah Bailey (River Region United Way), Anthony Brock (Valiant Cross Academy), Gary Cobb (YMCA), Dr. Denise Davis-Maye (Alabama State University), Greg Glenn (Alabama Christian Academy), and Charles Lee (That’s My Child).
Guests will have the opportunity to browse the Expo that will highlight organizations working to support and build-up teens to promote positive quality of life. That’s My Child, MEOW Academy, King’s Canvas, Girl Scouts, Boys and Girls Club, Faith Boxing and many more will be present for the Expo.
Leadership Montgomery is proud to bring community leaders together to learn, engage, discuss, and have the opportunity to network with organizations working to improve the lives of teens. This event is a great way to not only learn about the needs of teens, but to take action and connect with local organizations to support and get involved with making positive change! The hope is that the EXPO will provide the platform for networking with local community leaders who are seeking ways to engage and support those working to improve the lives of teens.
