Betty V. Washington, Administrator at Gardens of Wetumpka Assisted Living, is the epitome of resilience. She has always had the will and determination to succeed in life.
Beginning as a teen mother and thereafter a divorced single mother of three, Washington returned to school and received her nursing degree and later received her Alabama Assisted Living Administrator License Cat II.
Washington always had the desire to help the voiceless and become the change she desired to see. Through this plight she developed a passion to advocate various issues involving social justice reform. As a result of her hard work and dedication, Washington was the recipient of the 2020 JLUSA National Fellowship. In addition, Washington has developed several nonprofit organizations and procured funding with experience in grant writing.
Beyond work, Washington enjoys her involvement in local politics, community service and mentoring young women to pursue their education and follow their heart and dreams. She is currently planning her Christmas wedding, however, you’ll definitely see more of her in the months to come.
