I had the pleasure of interviewing Neice Danzey, owner of Fabulous Flawed Pieces Boutique in Dothan, Alabama. Mrs. Danzey says that her passion for African art came from her husband, Gentry Danzey, Sr. She says that her husband learned about African history and started to collect the art as a hobby. It has been 20 years since this passion began and they plan on keeping it alive for others to bask in it as well. The couple sold African art together for 15 years as a couple, up until they entered their careers. Now, they are back and better than ever. The power couple has since started a business that merges the passion and love that they have for the art and history of Africa. The main reason for opening the shop, Danzey says, is to “Leave a legacy for her children and grandchildren.”

The boutique is open to any and everyone who loves and appreciates the African heritage and culture. Some of the items that will be sold include clothes, accessories, and health products. Due to COVID-19, Danzey says that there were some shipping setbacks and delays in the opening of the shop, but that did not stop her. The grand-opening for Fabulous Flawed Pieces will be held on Saturday, June 20 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Everyone is welcome to join and masks will be provided!
