MONTGOMERY – Global leaders in business, innovation and technology will converge on Alabama’s Capital City for the inaugural Alabama Business Technology Conference – a three-day conference, trade show and professional training event April 22-24 at the Renaissance Montgomery Hotel & Convention Center. The event was organized by the Alabama Technology Foundation (ATF) as a way to bolster Alabama’s booming IT sector.
The plenary line-up boasts IT thought leaders who will explore emerging threats and trends of vital interest to all professionals. It features executives from companies with an Alabama presence and global reach, including Hitachi, Lockheed Martin Space, Fearless and Hudson Alpha. Topics covered range from Smart City solutions, IoT integration and artificial intelligence to data driven business systems, cyber security and 5G. Continuing education credits for security and project management will also be offered in many of the breakout sessions.
“We chose Montgomery for our inaugural event for many reasons,” explained ATF Executive Director Renee Borg. “The capital city and the state have multiple workforce programs based here for Alabamians working for the Department of Defense as well as the private sector, it’s home to the Montgomery Internet Exchange at the RSA Data Center which has expanded the bandwidth for our Alabama businesses and residents, and Montgomery is a leader in smart city innovation with a large and very active tech community.”
On Friday, April 24th, the conference will hold the first Alabama Technology Foundation Career Fair where businesses from around the state will be participating. Students are invited to attend a panel discussion where they can interact directly with tech recruiters including Rezult, Stratice, and Coding Solutions. This is a free event for students pursuing degrees in IT and technology fields at all Alabama colleges and universities.
