Black Belt Town Hosts First Community Health Fair

Yellow Bluff, AL- The Town of Yellow Bluff in Wilcox County hosted a Health Fair and Covid-19 Vaccination Clinic last Saturday. This was the first health fair in the town’s history.

Dr. Lopez from University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) administered the Covid-19 vaccination shots. A total of 11 residents were vaccinated.

Yellow Bluff Mayor Michael Gordon was excited about the fair.

“I would like to thank everyone in the community who helped organize this event” Mayor Gordon said. “This is our first health fair ever and we wanted everyone to come out, especially those who were not vaccinated.”

There was food, vendors, and a bounce house for children.

Mayor Gordon expressed special thanks to UAB Heart and Lung Study, All Around ATV Riders, The Town of Yellow Bluff City Council, The Alabama Conference of Black Mayors, Wilcox County Constable District 5, Town of Mosses Mayor Harold Bell, Town of Newbern Mayor Patrick Braxton, Daisha Design, Kim Moss of York, AL, The Honorable Helenor Bell, Ms. Rosalind Simmons, and Johnnie Meadowbrook

Other vendors and participants for the health fair included Wilcox County Community in Action Coalition, Gumptown Magazine, and The Serious Injury Law Group.

All children in attendance received a $20 gift card.
