ALABAMA VOTES RALLY AND PRESIDENTAL DISCUSSION CONCLUDE BLOODY SUNDAY 55TH COMMEMORATION

Montgomery, AL⎯ The National Organization of Black Elected Legislative Women (NOBEL Women) black women will close the 55th Bloody Sunday events with the Alabama Votes rally featuring top-ranked motivational speaker Patricia Russell McCloud, Sunday, March 1 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Paul AME Church, home church of Rosa Parks, “Mother of the Civil Rights Movement,” 706 Patton Ave., Montgomery, AL.
Alabama is one of 13 states participating in Super Tuesday. The Alabama Votes rally is an opportunity for candidates, churches, service organizations and other constituency groups to rally their troops to the polls on March 3rd. NOBEL Women invited all presidential candidates to participate in a discussion on issues vote worthy in their communities across the country.

Representative Karen Camper (D) Tennessee, President of NOBEL Women said their members are proud to continue the legacy of civil rights workers who struggled to create a better America. “We are excited to travel to Montgomery and participate in this historic commemoration. Our Alabama leadership team, led by NOBEL 2nd VP Representative Juandalyn Givan (BHM) and Past NOBEL President Representative Laura Hall (HSV) has been working hard to organize the various events designed to
encourage more African Americans to exercise the right to vote.”

The NOBEL Women Board of Directors meeting and the Institute for Emerging Youth Leadership Academy will also be held at St. Paul AME. The academy is from 9a.m.-12 noon on Saturday, February 29, followed by the Board of Directors meeting.

The National Organization of Black Elected Legislative Women (NOBEL Women) is a non-profit, non-partisan organization primarily composed of current and former black women legislators as well as many appointed officials. Originally established in 1985 as a national organization to increase and promote the presence of black women in government, NOBEL Women in recent years has expanded its vision to serve as a global voice to address a myriad of issues affecting the lives of all women.
